Kishshey Senanayake![]() ![]() ![]() 11th Aug 2015 13:08:26 | Hello,
I assume there are some of developers here, I just wanted to know that if there is an easier way to get the server online status indicator customized. Processing the sessions page is an option i considered, but its a hard task if you run multiple servers, and well image processing the image generated by fsopen is a stupid thing(but that would work too) to even think about. I tried contacting dave on this matter, didn't get a respond. |
Tim Walters![]() ![]() ![]() 11th Aug 2015 18:29:47 | You might be able to extract the status from the json data provided by Dave.
http://www.maldair.com/fsxeu/APAMS-INFO/ This was developed entirely on that data. Tim |
Andy Mooring![]() ![]() ![]() 11th Aug 2015 20:00:56 | If you didn't get a response, it may be because he might have been away at the time you sent your message OR he never got your message OR he did respond but you didn't get the reply (internet failure...does happen trust me) OR it may be that he HAS taken your message on board and is figuring it out, then once figured out he will get back to you with an answer.
Don't forget, Dave is the ONLY person with the know-how of all the software created for us simmers, so when there is only a one-person operation in process, you have to give them time to work things out and test them BEFORE you get an answer. In other words, hang tight and you'll get your answer. |
Dave Wave![]() ![]() ![]() 12th Aug 2015 07:27:58 | Sorry, your email ended up in my spam filter, I have replied to you now. |
Kishshey Senanayake![]() ![]() ![]() 12th Aug 2015 15:32:59 | Thanks for all the information guys. I appreciate it.
Tim, that's a nice service right there, Andy, thanks, I understand Dave, Thank you for the reply to email, unfortunately it looks to be empty i tried with different clients, and webmail. It only contains my original message. Please do re-send it when able. Thanks |
Kishshey Senanayake![]() ![]() ![]() 12th Aug 2015 16:38:39 | And Tim, could you explain a little more? What JSON data
Thanks, Kishshey |
Tim Walters![]() ![]() ![]() 13th Aug 2015 20:18:25 | JSON (canonically pronounced /?d?e?s?n/ JAY-s?n; sometimes JavaScript Object Notation, is an open standard format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects consisting of attribute–value pairs. It is used primarily to transmit data between a server and web application, as an alternative to XML.
In other words, Dave provides data in a format that anyone can read if they know how! |
Kishshey Senanayake![]() ![]() ![]() 13th Aug 2015 21:10:07 | Haha no tim,
that's not what i meant, where do I find the files |
Tim Walters![]() ![]() ![]() 14th Aug 2015 20:13:17 | http://fsopen.co.uk/db/json/hosts/version3.php
if the results of the above does not contain your server name string - then it's offline... and.... http://www.fsopen.co.uk/db/json/online/version1.php?HostID=xxxx (xxxx is your host ID) this is grrrreat for data farming! |
Joe Clifford![]() ![]() ![]() 14th Aug 2015 23:02:04 | Hi Kishshey,
As Tim has said & im sure Dave has in his email, you can do what you're trying to achieve using json. Something you may be interested in is explain in another thread: http://www.fsopen.co.uk/forum/posts/listposts.php?threadid=3452 It's just a little tool I made some time back that may be of some use to you, maybe not. Regards, Joe |
Kishshey Senanayake![]() ![]() ![]() 14th Aug 2015 23:50:18 | You guys are awesome. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna start data digging
