| FSopen Log File | |
James Beaumont ![]() 25th May 2014 19:47:35 | Hello,
I have got a fsopen log document and I would like to look through it as I have had reports from people that they were being kicked for no apparent reason. The problem is that this log file has become 2GB big and notepad and word refuses to open it and word pad just crashes when attempting to open it. Is there another text editor that can open this large file? Regards James Beaumont |

Give NotePad++ a go http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ Joe |
James Beaumont ![]() 25th May 2014 20:54:26 | Hi Joe,
Unfortunately that didn't work either :( |
Joe Clifford ![]() 25th May 2014 21:05:46 | Ok,
Give http://www.sweetscape.com/010editor/ a try. I've managed a 5GB file in this before. Joe |

Tried 010editor earlier, do you know how to get it so that the writing is legible? James |
Dave Wave ![]() 25th May 2014 21:31:34 | It's a binary file of every packet sent and received by fsx.
This is only useful if you can decode packets. If fsopen has kicked a player you will get a message saying why, if users are being kicked without a message then maybe they have a bad internet connection. If lots of players are dropping out the problem is likely to be on your network. |
James Beaumont ![]() 25th May 2014 23:46:02 | Hi Dave,
The issue seems to be that everyone gets kicked then can't reconnect without the fsopen server being reset. I am on BT Infinity with 75mbps download and 18mbps upload, ports are forwarded etc. Have you any thoughts? Regards James Beaumont |
Dave Wave ![]() 26th May 2014 07:35:46 | Is your ip changing? |
James Beaumont ![]() 26th May 2014 17:58:03 | Last time it happened the ip did not change when reset however on other occasions it did. |
Dave Wave ![]() 26th May 2014 18:28:48 | I suspect your IP is changing, keep an eye on it and complain to BT if it does and post the result back here please. If you say it's changing on fsopen when you restart the server then this is likely to be the problem. |
James Beaumont ![]() 29th May 2014 09:25:08 | Hi Dave,
Upon reset I can see that the IP address has changed. Like you said I have contacted BT but they will only offer a static IP address to business broadband customers. Any ideas what next? Regards James Beaumont |
Dave Wave ![]() 29th May 2014 10:27:51 |
Change ISP. As their product is not fit for purpose they can't hold you to a contract term. |
James Beaumont ![]() 29th May 2014 13:08:22 | Hi Dave,
Looked to Virgin Media however cable not available in the area. Choice seems to only be BT |
Dave Wave ![]() 29th May 2014 15:40:03 | Lots of other providers should be able to use Fibre if BT is possible.
