FSXWorldwide becomes password protected

Recently, We have seen an enormous rise in pilots (and controllers) joining our server. Unfortunately, not all of these people are interested in flying sensibly nor complying with our reasonably laid back policies.

As a result, we have found it neccessary to become a password protected server.

The password is available in our Teamspeak server.

We're sorry to hear of this necessity, Mr. Bartlam. While we endeavor to continue to maintain open facilities at msFLIGHTS.net, we also are experiencing an influx of users not interested in civil deportment and/or using our extensive facilities as they were intended to be used. As always, all of you community administrators in the wider FSX multi world, some of us note and appreciate what you do for the hobby, the passion even as such gratitude is too rarely expressed. Such administration will not be ever easy but it should at least be gratifying. Take what steps are necessary to preserve the good experience of the many who we do this sort of thing for. Above all, let us maintain the good rapore that seems to have become our norm between all our communities and let us continue to help each other however may be deemed appropriate.

Respects, Bob...

It's a shame really Bob, we've been fortunate to attract so many people in recent weeks, unfortunately it's caused a few upsets.

I'm expecting a decline in numbers as a result, but if we only get the serious people in that are interested in learning and/or are already at a good place in terms of their etiquette and knowledge, then I'm willing to take that hit.

I think eventually, the majority of FSX servers will have to consider using this option, I held off for as long as I could but my regular members were becoming rather irritated by the overwhelming amount of people just doing what they want in airspace as it was being controlled. Hopefully, the guys that actually want to fly with us will visit the Teamspeak to get the code and join in with our events and operations.

Hope you are well my friend, good to hear from you.

Hi Dave,
Welcome to running a server.. 80% politics 10% flying and 10% pulling your hair out!
Keep it up, don't get to down hearted. In the end you will get a core list of common minded flyers and ATC and that makes it really worth while.

Hi Geoff,

Good to hear from you, hope all is well.

The first few days have seen a decline in numbers, but not as bad as I thought it would be. All our regulars still jump in and fly with us, we've also had no trouble from random spanners, ATC guys have also said they've found it a lot calmer and better. So thankfully, it seems like a good move

Not sure if you've had the same at FSXm or Bob at MSF, but we've seemed to have seen an increase in troublemakers recently. I've only ever had to use the ban function on both the Teamspeak and server on two previous occasions since May last year, but over the last two weeks, I've found myself having to use it quite often. Today, we had a guy somehow get into a members aircraft, he started messing around with the controls of the aircraft. He was in Teamspeak, we asked him to stop, he then went on a foul mouthed tirade. A shame really, completely unnecessary but we've seen that sort of attitude and behavior a lot recently, not sure exactly what's been going on. Never mind though, the majority are fine :)

Hey Geoff

I'd like to amend your percentage calculations and add another 5% for reinstalling FSX...

We are dealing with the public here... It's only natural (sadly) that we get the occasional plonker...
