| Clicking on player on the map shows information in large yellow rectangle | |
Roy Sernagiotto ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 07:05:30 | I used to be able click on the player on the map and a small rectangle of information would be beside it now I have a huge yellow background color one with the text spread across it making it hard to match the label with the data far to the right. Is there a JAVA or driver that is needed or to be repaired ? |
Dave Wave ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 08:31:12 | Roy, what browser and platform are you using. Can you try a different one? |
Simon Mulder ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 20:08:17 | I have been having this problem for quite a while as well. I use Internet Explorer, but I will try another one and update with any difference that I see. |
Dave Wave ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 20:14:53 | Which version of IE are you using?
Earlier versions are notorious for not following html standards. |
Simon Mulder ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 20:21:17 | The newest IE. 10 I believe. I used Google Chrome and the Problem seemed to have fixed... Must just be Internet Explorer |
Dave Wave ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 20:27:37 | Anybody else using IE 10?
Please can you say if you have the same problem or not. Thanks. |
Geoff Server ![]() 2nd Sep 2013 20:34:00 | Yep Dave I have seen this on the latest IE.

Roy Sernagiotto ![]() 3rd Sep 2013 06:25:05 | I have IE10, Java 7 update 25, the latest. |
Dave Wave ![]() 3rd Sep 2013 09:11:54 | Java is irrelevant, this seems to be an issue with ie10.
I'll look at whether a recompile of the code with the latest tools will fix this. This will be a couple of weeks away. For years ie was the dominate browser and Microsoft abused this position to not follow the standards for html. Microsoft is now committed to following standards but as compliers expect ie to behave differently they sometimes serve up code that would work for an older non-standard ie that fails in a newer version for html. This means ie has compatibility modes you can set inside to pretend its an earlier version of the browser. In Short Microsoft shot itself in the foot and in the continuing race for dominance is now hopping against the rest of the world. If you use ie you are likely to experience this problem on many other sites. My advice would be to use Chrome or Firefox instead. These two have always tries to follow html standards so newer versions are more likely to carry on rendering web sites consistently. Here ends today's rant! |
