Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you are hosting your servers through an Internet-based server host? Basically I'm hosting a 24/7 server but on Sunday, I begin a fourteen month course in Portsmouth, earning I can only get home at weekends. The girlfriend is staying in Cornwall but hasn't got a clue about computers if something went wrong.

Anyone know of any server hosting based sites I'd be able to use? I've looed online and the majority of the hosts are for games like cod and battlefield

Thanks in advance

The cheapest (free) and easiest option is to install TeamViewer on your PC you use to host... and on a laptop... and remotely control your "server". I can even handle this on my Android phone... if needed.

The issue with internet-based servers... is... FSX (by design) is internally coded NOT to run on a normal server. Microsoft was not thinking that far ahead. Runs only on a PC.

You can also do the same by using a local internet provider that allows "CO-Location" service. This is where you put your PC at their site. Can be expensive. I do this ONLY because I am stuck with very limited bandwidth where I currently live.

HINT: if you choose to use TeamViewer... make sure you "whitelist" ONLY the PC's you will allow to make a remote connection to your server... for obvious security reasons.

Guys thanks for the reply. It'll be a case of using Teamviewer I think :)
