Laurence Woodside ![]() 27th Dec 2011 21:37:52 | Dave loaded flight strips onto laptop and get this message
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, Version=10.0.61259.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. |
Dave Wave ![]() 27th Dec 2011 22:37:53 | Sounds like Simconnect not installed on your PC. try this
http://fsopen.co.uk/sc/2/SimConnect.msi |

Dave Wave ![]() 29th Dec 2011 09:43:32 | I'm fixing off line with Laurence. Will report back here when fixed. |
Laurence Woodside ![]() 29th Dec 2011 15:53:00 | Thanks Dave It is a problem local to Laptop only all other machines OK so a PC World problem as opposed to a flight strip issue |
Dave Wave ![]() 29th Dec 2011 16:17:28 | Was fsx installed on the laptop? Flightstips needs it. |
Max Schmelzer ![]() 29th Dec 2011 22:27:40 | Hey Dave, I'm a little confused how flight strips would work with two or more controllers. I am trying to get it so i am approach control in my own session and my buddy is tower control. how do we both see the flight strips? does he need a username? the reason i ask is because it seems like i need to be running a server through fsopen on my username in order to log in to flight strips. So would the same go for my friend, or if he is in my session registered as a controller would it detect him? Otherwise it gives me a message that it can not detect me in a session and that i might need to wait a minute. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, it would be easier for me to answer my question if i had a third computer.
Thanks, Max |
Dave Wave ![]() 30th Dec 2011 21:11:17 | your freind needs a fsopen userid. Providing he is in fsx in one of our listed sessions he should then be able to use flightstrips. |
Max Schmelzer ![]() 30th Dec 2011 23:02:52 | Ok thanks Dave. Used it for the first time last night and enjoyed it. Only issue i saw either when someone who had a flight plan open would leave or if someone would rejoin (i couldnt really tell), the strips would get jumbled up and stack on top of each other, rather than stay as i arranged them. Also, any thoughts on somehow integrating it into FSX so I wouldnt have to keep FSX in window mode? |
Dave Wave ![]() 1st Jan 2012 15:49:45 | When a player leaves I remove the flighstrip. When they join again quickly I keep the flightplan etc but I have no idea where the original flight strip was put so I just stack them in the middle of the screen.
Serious users won't join/leave quickly unless you're having network problems! No chance integrating into fsx which will be practically obsolete in a year. |
