I have a suggestion for FSOpen. We allow both GameSpy and Direct connect to our server. However, we still have problematic players that join. Although the BOT does a great job eliminating 99% of them, I was wondering... Would it be possible to create a BOT LOG? Just like the Whitelist.txt and AdminIP.txt files? Whereas, the log records a couple things: 1. Name Used to join session. 2. IP used upon joinning. 3. Date and Time joined. We have people that still try to crash other players, "Friend Request" our server, which kicks the server off GameSpy, and knocks everyone out of the session (sort of). With our VA, this can be a huge problem for long flights. Also when the BOT bans, via the !B command, I don't think it is recording their IP address. This would be most helpful, because we add these IP Addresses to a custom Norton Internet Security Firewall Rule, that does not allow the user to EVEN try to connect again; it also prevents them from joining if the BOT goes down. Anyway, would this be hard to implement? Or possible to add? Thanks, and again... Happy Holidays to all! Jon Bowles |

From memory, friend requests should be cancelled every 2 seconds. Is this not happening? !b will log the ipaddress but some people can quickly re-boot their router to get a new address. The only way to resolve this is to ban address ranges with your firewall but this then closes your server to legitimate users using the same isp. |

I will not remove the software is by fsopen. I can't think of any reason why you would want to do this? |

Thought about it just because Dave Waves own Flight Simulator X Server did not read that text. I Need stronger hosting software, just like that what is running on Hippy Happy Germany. I Mean stronger hosting software, what can include more commands, just like in Hippy Happy Germany Server, I Think you have seen Hippy Happy Germany commands, and sounds, when you are joined to that Session. I Mean A.T.C. Robot, who speaks automatically, when user type some command. Again: I Really like this Dave Waves software, but I M Searching slightly larger software.

I popped into 'Hippy Happy Germany' Basically Its Very Similar. However instead of having real Controllers Online. The software registers where each player is in the game and they can type into the chat box "G-OPAM Taxi" and it says Aloud "G-OPAM Taxi 26L K,N,AN" It then obviously keeps track of their taxi as it says "I Will Call You Once Im At the holding point, for take off". From what I saw it was being over loaded, so many commands being shoved into the chat box and it just wasn't able to respond in time. Hopefully This Clarifies What Mikael meant by ATC Robot Joe :) |

Joe Clifford, Thank Your confirmation about this thing. I Want to replace it, because it can operate ATC, when I M not in computer, or in home. When I Comeback to computer, then I Can take ATC control. This is my dream, and it can help my hosting. But I Dont think so its possible in here at yet. But is it possible to change this Software by www.fsopen.co.uk, and **Robot** to =Bot= ?. Looks like most this Software users are changed Software by, and **Robot** Text. Thank You. | Dave Wave 10th Jan 2012 14:57:23 | FSopen is about real ATC and the software I write to support that is available to other groups for free.
It's not commercially viable to write an automated ATC bot (Wouldn't work with Teamspeak anyway) If you see a bot posting without saying it was by fsopen, then it wasn't by fsopen! |

Well, I Think they are using you Software. I Can see that, because they publish IP to this Site. In FSX Carrier Ops, its using version 0.43, and it auto posts message, without Software by www.fsopen.co.uk. And I Saw this in other Servers, what uses your program. I Have sent you E-Mail Dave, with this Robot name change. |

After looking into it, it is clear that 'FSX Carrier Ops' who are on our front page clearly have 'Software by FSOpen.co.uk' at the bottom of there chat window. I personally, although not the developer of what I think is a Class program, do not appreciate you coming onto here and saying opening that you are going to get software else where. It is clear, seeing as we have so many sessions using Dave's software, that it is useful and efficient. If you have suggestions then please let us know, but don't come on here and slate the software that has changed how FSX is played on-line in so many different FSX Communities. The idea of Automated ATC, although an Idea, in my opinion is just boring, if there is no ATC on-line and you want to have some unrealistic ATC, then play in free flight. The Automated ATC Used by 'Hippy Happy Germany' is unresponsive and very unrealistic with its phraseology. Thankyou Joe |

I Think I Just gave up this already. The text is what is it, when FS Open Server publish auto message to FSX Chat window. Some users may can edit this Software, it can be possible, but only bad thing is big unknown letters. Users should not edit this Software, if this is protected by copyright. Sincerely: Mikael. |
