Jan Imbach ![]() 12th Dec 2011 01:59:31 | Hi Dave,
Just a quick question to you. The box that displays status/errors in the FSOpen server software, is there anywhere i can find what these errors mean? Or just a simple explanation? I get these errors comming up after about 4/5 hours hosting and not sure what they mean, so i am not able to avoid them next time. They are worded someting like this: "The underlying connection was closed: a connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server" or "The operation has timed out" Thanks for the help! |
Dave Wave ![]() 12th Dec 2011 06:41:05 | The software sends player information back to our server every 30 seconds. If a response isn't received in 20 seconds you will get a time out error. This is not a problem as the same information is sent every 30 seconds. If you see these errors a lot then it's likely there is a poor internet connection between you and the server.
Not sure why you get the first error, are you getting a lot of these? |
Jan Imbach ![]() 12th Dec 2011 12:35:56 | Ok thanks for the info.
No i do not get a lot of these. However after 4/5 hours they start poping once every 30 minutes or so. It does not seem to have a huge effect on the players, but sometimes the server commands fail to work. Internet speed should be up to scratch @ 50 mbps down and 5 up. I am connecting from Switzerland, and the computer running the server is connected via a wi-fi connection, maybe this is what is causing it. Thanks for the help! |
