Zach Powell 23rd Oct 2011 03:07:34	Hello, I love doing ATC and I do it all the time on one of the FS Open Servers. But my question is, why do we not have APP/DEP and Center Positions? And only Radar or Control? Thanks, Zach Powell
Dave Wave 23rd Oct 2011 08:24:41	I can't remember the exact reason, probably evolved out of UK airspace, simplicity for beginners etc. It's a lot of work to change now.
Steff Missot 23rd Oct 2011 14:58:02	Hello, We don't have 500 pilots flying all the time so we don't need to cover every position, the APP/DEP is merged into radar and then we have TWR and GND. We also don't use DEL because GND covers that and is able to cope with the traffic. Departures go straight to London Control, and Radar(APP) gives them vectors, speed and altitude control after they flewn their STAR assigned by London Control
