For some reason a cabin door was opened during flight and experts agree this is one of the dumbest things one can do. The aircraft sustained considerable decompression damage. The pilot exceeded the max airspeed for gear extension and gear was damaged. The flaps were extended at excessive airspeed and were damaged. One or more system failed*. There was an exceptional pilot on board and despite the dire situation he was able to make a successful belly landing.
