Sam Almog 28th Aug 2010 12:33:12 | Enhance your FSX graphics with TileProxy.
Attached are two comparisons I did taking screenshots over the Grand Canyon: http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/5282/image2ex.jpg http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/3235/image1tx.jpg More about TileProxy see: http://www.edtruthan.com/tileproxy/tutorial/ Remarks: 1. Best terrain resolution (and 3d illusion) you'll get flying above 4,000f. 2. Be aware that AutoGan is disabled when using TileProxy. Good Luck Sam |

I used it for about a year, really liked it but there are limitations to it. 1. If you don't have a quad core fsx frame rates will suffer. 2. Long load times before fsx starts as the scenery is downloaded before you can start a flight. 3. With my internet connection of 3.5Mb I'd outrun the scenery in a jet, with a cessena it was fantastic. 4. Coverage varies greatly, I found flying around parts of the alps almost real, other parts of the world not so great, some dire! 5. If an image fails to download you get a big black square mapped onto the scenery. 6. Can be quite technical to set up and tune. Having said all that I found the experience well worth it but, got frustrated with it eventually and took it off. |

I have double core with 5 M/s internet speed and getting good performance in flight speed of 250kts. Time to load ~5m. To plan a flight in a terrain of good resolution you can go to Yahoo map or MSN map and search the Globe. comparison between this two map providers you can do at: http://www.flashearth.com/ |
